On November 3, Brentwood Homeowners Association hosted a Town Hall for communities within our district (CD-11) to learn more about the recent work by the Sheriff’s HOST team at the San Vicente Encampment as well as other homeless outreach from the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The San Vicente encampment outside of the VA was dismantled November 1st with almost all residents placed in transitional housing options. However, many audience members had questions about the plans to keep the sidewalk clear after the removal of the tents as well as how to prevent future encampments moving to City sidewalks.
A special thanks to LAPD Captain Jon Tom and LASD Lt Geoffrey Deedrick for helping facilitate the initial call to action.
