While 2023 will bring many changes (new LA City Councilmember, LA County Supervisor, Mayor, US Representative and state laws to name a few), what won't change is BHA's commitment to keep our members informed, to assist in solving neighborhood issues, and to advocate on our members' behalf to protect the quality of life in our community. IMPORTANT UPDATES Trash Collection
Tuesday trash collection will be on Wednesday next week, due to the City holiday on Monday. LA Sanitation offers curbside collection for Christmas trees. Remove all decorations and the stand from the tree. If you are unable to cut it and place it inside the green bin, place it next to the bin on collection day. New Laws Several laws will go into effect January 1 that may affect you. -
DMV-related laws; of special note anyone 70 or older must renew their driver's license in person (not online)

State laws; of special note, jaywalking will be decriminalized
Crime and Safety Protect your car from thieves looking to steal your catalytic converter. If you cannot park your car in the garage, then consider installing a catalytic converter shield that is welded to the underside of the car to make it more difficult to remove it. In the past week, two Toyota Priuses parked on the street had their catalytic converters removed. |
