Over 300 in Attendance at Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone who came to our 2023 Annual Meeting at Brentwood School this past Monday.  We were honored to have such a distinguished panel, including Mayor Karen Bass, address our question of "Is it a new day in LA or more of the same?"  Mayor Bass outlined what she is doing to address our members' number one concern--homelessness--and made clear that for her it is not more of the same. In fact, all of the speakers and panelists--US Congressman Brad Sherman, Mayor Karen Bass, Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and Councilwoman Traci Park-- ALL committed to working together to address homelessness as well as crime, traffic and fire safety and not continue the "blame game" between County, City, State and Federal government agencies.

A special thank you to LAFD Deputy Chief Richard Fields and LAPD Captain Craig Heredia for participating as well.

Power Outages in Brentwood

It seems that each week we receive a text that there is another power outage somewhere in Brentwood.  Most of the time the cause is not reported, but with the recent rains fallen trees have caused a few outages.  Given the number of outages in our area, BHA is working on bringing a representative from LADWP to one of our monthly meetings to answers questions such as what are the causes of the outages, how are repair efforts staffed and prioritized, and what type of improvements could help to reduce the outages.
