What Can Be Done About Vacant Buildings?
Since 2012 complaints have been filed with LA Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) about the vacant and abandoned property at 403 N. Robinwood. According to the building inspector from LADBS's Vacant Building Abatement (VBA) division this house on Robinwood is an active open nuisance case and is being monitored as a vacant and unsecured property. If neighbors see any signs of trespassers or if the property is not secured to prevent illegal entry, report it immediately using the MyLA311 link on our website. The service report will be sent to the VBA division of LADBS.
Unfortunately, a property can remain 'vacant' for years, as long as it is secured, clean, and closed to the public. LAMC Division 7, Abatement of Vacant Buildings, requires that the City prevent any abandoned structure from attracting illegal activity, vagrants, or criminal activity or being set on fire by unauthorized persons. Therefore, if you see trespassers or suspect illegal entry at a vacant structure, please report it immediately. You may also report concerns over increased vegetation via MyLA311 or at the LAFD link on our website.
