Did You Receive the FEMA Nationwide Alert Test Oct 4?

This past week FEMA conducted a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts.  Anyone who had their cell phone turned on and within the range of a cell tower should have received the test.  This is a good reminder to sign up for the City's emergency notification system NOTIFY LA.

Do you live in the hills and did not receive this alert? Let us know because we are working with Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and others to improve the cell reception in the hills, which is so critical in the event of an emergency.  Please email us and let us know.

Filming in our Neighborhoods

Each week BHA receives multiple notices from FilmLA about filming on location in our neighborhoods.  Some shoots are for a few hours and others can be for multiple days.  Next week BHA will be meeting with FilmLA and other HOAs in Brentwood to try and minimize the disruption filming can bring while supporting an industry that is vital to our city.  Do you have thoughts? Have you had a good experience? A bad experience? Please let us know by emailing us.

Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project

Metro is pursuing three projects to address travel in the Sepulveda Pass and mountain range. The Traffic Reduction Study, Sepulveda Transit Corridor, and I-405 Sepulveda Pass ExpressLanes .  All three of these projects will have PROFOUND IMPACTS on our neighborhood.  The Traffic Reduction Study would implement congestion pricing not only on the 405 between the 101 and the 10 freeways but also the canyon roads between the 405 and the 101. Where will the cars go who don't want to pay to drive on the freeway or Beverly Glen? On our local streets!

Metro will be sharing information about all three projects as well as asking stakeholders who live near and travel through the area for their input.

Metro needs to hear from us!

Please attend an in-person or virtual meeting to learn more and to provide feedback.  Each in-person meeting will include a formal presentation by Sepulveda Transit Corridor, Q&A session and an open house with information for all three projects.

BHA PICNIC A HUGE SUCCESS!!

Thank you to members and friends who ate a few (hundred) hot dogs, learned about fire safety, and enjoyed classic jazz by local middle school and high school students.  See you next year!
