Free Weather Alert Radios at the Wildfire Fair
Do you live north of Sunset Blvd in a high fire zone with limited cell reception? Then come to the Wildfire Safety Fair this Sunday and receive a FREE NOAA Weather Alert radio from the LA County Fire Department. This radio will notify you not only of severe weather but can broadcast emergency messages as well without relying on cell service. Please use this form to register for the radio before Sunday.

Help Us Improve Cell Coverage in the Hills
Effective and reliable communication is a top priority during a wildfire event. The most recent test of the national alert system revealed that many of our members in the canyons did not receive the alert because of weak or non-existent cell coverage. To address this issue, BHA is partnering with the associations in Mandeville Canyon to collect information from our members to create a database to map where additional coverage is needed. Many of you heard of the new scam where all it takes is for you to say YES in your phone to be the potential victim of a scam. Learn how to protect yourself from the latest scams at a seminar hosted by our State Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, who is Chair of the Select Committee on Cyber Security. She will be joined by representatives from the Department of Justice and the State Department of Financial Protection & Innovation, along with experts from our local law enforcement agency.
