PRESIDENT BIDEN COMING TO LOS ANGELES TODAY
The president will be in West LA this weekend. A Pro-Palestine protest, similar to the one held in Brentwood during Kamala Harris's visit, is planned at Holmby Park starting TODAY at 3:30pm. Please check your traffic maps and listen to the news before heading out. Try to avoid the area. |
Recent Criminal Activity
On Sunday night, December 3, there was an attempted car theft in the 200 block of N Bowling Green Way. The owner pulled into his driveway at around 8:00pm. His wife and kids exited the car while he remained in the drivers seat. The perpetrator tried the door, but left when he saw the driver in the seat (above photo). This attempted car theft attempt comes after a recent burglary on the 100 block of N. Bowling Green where the home was ransacked.
Now more than ever, it is a good time to remember these helpful tips to avoid being a victim:
1. Expensive handbags, watches and jewelry attract attention. Avoid all three if possible.
2. Exiting high end stores, especially with bags, can attract attention from would be thieves and follow home burglars.
3. Cameras and alarms at your home are a must.
4. When you arrive home, pull the car into the garage and close the door before exiting the vehicle, but only when you have determined no one is lurking.
5. If you are sitting in your driveway calling or texting, please make sure your car doors are locked.
6. Lock all doors and windows when you are not at home. Use your alarm, even if you are just going to be out a few minutes.
7. Pick up packages from your door as soon as possible.
8. Do not leave your trash cans out after trash day.
9. Add “Beware of Dog” signs to your side gates.

REMINDER: NORTH BARRINGTON IS CLOSED.
Work has begun on the Barrington Avenue LADWP project. While we do not know when streets will be closed or for how long, BHA is in contact with our liaison at LADWP to manage unforeseen traffic issues and to address any issues that arise. According to LADWP, "The construction supervisor and crews are paying close attention to Barrington as it is a very busy street. The mainline installation began at Barrington and Chaparal St. The scope of the work varies on a daily basis so the traffic control plan has to be adjusted as well. Signs are placed on the side streets heading to Barrington Ave."
