Another Home Invasion Robbery in Brentwood this Past Friday
While we are still waiting for more details, there was another home invasion robbery Friday night in the 300 block of Bundy. Prior to the robbery, the residents noticed a white Mercedes sitting in front of their home with people inside.
What To Do If You See Suspicious Activity
We have many reports of homeowners observing cars in our neighborhood with passengers and drivers sitting in front of houses or slowing down to take photos. If it is during the day, go outside and make it clear that neighbors are watching out for each other. Your presence could be a deterrent. Let your neighbors know through WhatsApp groups to keep an eye out for a suspicious vehicle. Contact your security company and report suspicious cars, people, or activity. Most companies will send a patrol car that is already in the neighborhood to make contact with the suspicious character to ascertain their activity. Report it to BHA as well so we can see if other neighborhoods have noticed suspicious vehicles.
Increased Activity with Marilyn Monroe House Designation
In addition to suspicious activity from criminals potentially targeting our homes, there has been increased visits from fans and tourists who have discovered the former residence of Marilyn Monroe not only on Google maps (just type in Marilyn Monroe house to see its historical landmark designation, address and reviews) but on the list of LA Landmarks. These visitors ring neighbors' doors trying to gain access to the home, demand to know when the home is open for touring, and brazenly jump over the fence at all hours of the night, prompting 911 calls from the homeowners. We are working with LAPD and the homeowners on what can be done to make sure our neighborhoods stay safe and accessible for residents. If you notice excessive or suspicious activity around the Monroe house that concerns you or affects you, please let us know.
