Hearing on Demolition of Barry Building
In 2013 Charles Munger, facing opposition from neighbors, abandoned his project for 11973-11975 San Vicente Blvd, which included the Barry Building (an Historic Cultural Monument). Since that time, other buildings on the land have been torn down and the Barry Building has remained empty and deteriorating behind a chain link fence. In 2019 Munger filed a notice of intent to demolish the Barry Building. The next public hearing involving this proposed project is scheduled before the Cultural Heritage Commission Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00am
It will be a hybrid meeting held both in person in Los Angeles City Hall, Room 1010, 200 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 and online via Zoom. If you wish to comment or attend, you can find the agenda here as well as instructions on how to access the meeting remotely and submit comments http://planning.lacity.gov/dcpapi/meetings/document/77333.
