Suspects in Bonhill and Bundy Burglaries Arrested
This morning, West Los Angeles Detectives served a search warrant and arrested two suspects involved in the Bonhill and Bundy burglaries that occurred over the weekend. Detectives recovered evidence linking the suspects to both locations. Detectives will provide more details once they finish their investigation, but our West LA Community Police Department wanted BHA to be aware of these arrests. It appears they may be part of a gang that has been involved in multiple burglaries in Brentwood as well as the Valley. Images of their car captured by a Flock camera on a neighboring street assisted the police in their investigation. (75% of crimes in LA involve a vehicle.)
These criminals went to the electrical panel and flipped the circuit breaker to the house, cutting off power and disabling cameras. Most of us do not have our outdoor panels padlocked. However, LAPD now recommends that we all take steps to secure our panels by installing locks that the criminals cannot remove. |
Councilwoman Park Announces CD-11 Public Safety Package
Today at a press conference at her Westchester office, attended by BHA directors as well as Police Chief Jim McDonnell and District Attorney Nathan Hochman, Councilwoman Traci Park announced a special Public Safety package for CD-11 that will provide - Automated License Plate Readers at 50 locations in CD-11;
-
$200,000 more in funding for LAPD patrols to protect vulnerable sites in our district;
- $100,000 for tree trimming to create brighter, safe neighborhoods; and
- The addition of Park Ranger patrols at Venice Beach.
BHA will be working with Councilwoman Park's office to facilitate the allocation of these resources in Brentwood and provide input where needed.
At our next monthly meeting, December 17 on Zoom, we will be reviewing the proposal for license plate readers by Motorola and Flock in our community and discussing next steps. |
