IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT EVACUATION

LAFD just issued an alert that a warning zone has been added in Brentwood.  Please check the map to see if you are in that zone.  As you can tell from above, there are some streets that fall outside of it.  From what we have learned, not from official sources, is that winds have shifted slightly.  While they have worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire in Sullivan Canyon, we are still near an active fire zone.  As a precaution, LAFD has placed new areas on alert to be ready to go IF it moves to mandatory.  Please check Watch Duty and the LAFD map to see if you are in the new yellow zone.

IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT FIRE WEATHER PROTOCOLS

We are still in the midst of an active fire with severe weather continuing for the next few days.  Red flag warnings continue and strict no parking in our hillsides must be followed until lifted. A large portion of Brentwood has evacuated and now more are put on alert.  Those who remain MUST take extra care to FOLLOW THE PROTOCOLS put in place for our protection.

Construction

Under no circumstances should construction vehicles park in red zones or in front of fire hydrants or narrow streets blocking traffic. Not even for a minute. Nor should construction workers ignore the Red Flag Parking restrictions and park in the street.  Homeowners in the hills off of Kenter, Tigertail, Bundy need to take extra care and should consider pausing construction activity while we are facing this fire catastrophe.  This is especially important now that our highest hillside residents are under evacuation warning.

Drones and Spectators

This is our community and we need to protect it.  If you see someone flying a drone, please intercede.  Flying drones while firefighting continues from the air is irresponsible and plain stupid.  While our streets need to stay open for access by residents and firefighters, it should not be open to non-residents driving to the end of Kenter and Tigertail to take photos, trying to hop the fences.  Please, if you see this happen say something.  Most looky-loos will leave when approached.  However, as a precaution residents have personally hired guards to stand at the Kenter Trailhead gate, at the small park in 1100 block of Tigertail as well as Crestwood Park to prevent trespassers.

Security

If you have private security, use it if you see suspicious activity.  We have all heard the stories of criminals taking advantage of homes sitting empty.  If you have evacuated, your security detail may still be in the area. Ask them to continue driving by your home.  If you see someone trying to breach a fence or gate call your security.
