Mail Service
If your street is under a warning evacuation and accessible to cars, then mail will be delivered. All those in the mandatory evacuation zone, your mail and packages will be held for you at the post office. According to a mail carrier, the packages are really stacking up!
Evacuation Status
Many of you are anxious to get back to your homes. Unfortunately, we do not know when the evacuation statuses will be lifted. But given that we are entering into Red Flag weather and will see an increase in the winds while the fire is still active, you can assume that your evacuation status will not be downgraded. However, keep checking LAFD alerts and Watch Duty for the most up-to-date, reliable information.
Power
The most recent information we have from the City regarding power is the following:
LADWP crews will begin to restore power to these customers once we receive clearance from CAL FIRE to re-energize the circuits and assess the lines for hazards. We also have equipment affected by fire retardant that needs to be cleaned before we can re-energize these power lines.
Given this information, one can assume that power will remain off until the end of the week. Of course, if anything changes, we will let you know.
Water
Please read this notice carefully about the water supply for 90272 and adjacent communities north of San Vicente Blvd.
This notice is due to the potential of fire-related contaminants, including benzene and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may have entered the water system. Until adequate water pressure can be re-established, required flushing of the distribution system can be performed, and water is tested and confirmed to be safe, this notice is in effect. It is possible that disease-causing organisms or other contaminants could be present. These organisms include bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches. If you experience any of these symptoms, please consult with your healthcare professional as soon as possible. LADWP will inform you when tests show that water is safe to drink. The timing for resolving this is unknown dependent on evolving conditions, performance of necessary system flushing and testing in accordance with public safety protocols. If you have questions about other uses of tap water, please contact us at 1-800-DIAL DWP for 24-hour assistance.
