Leaf Blowers Temporarily Banned
Hazardous air quality and increased ash due to the Palisades Fire poses a safety issue for all. Ash is like a fine, dangerous dust that can be inhaled deep into the lungs and can cause major problems everywhere it lands. It’s not just dirt. There are specific steps to take when cleaning up the ash and debris around your house. Because of this, the LA County Department of Health has temporarily banned leaf blowers. A First Responder's Gotta Eat!
BHA sprung into action when our director Tania Greenberg got a call that LAPD needed food and drink at the command post on PCH. Within hours we delivered snacks, energy bars, water, and gatorade to the men and women of LAPD staffing the command post. After learning that others needed to be fed, Tania arranged food trucks and meal deliveries for the first responders. Thank you to those who help fund these meals and to those who continue to deliver meals to our local fire station 19 and the national guard stationed nearby.
