More Repopulation Zones
The LAPD, as part of the Unified Incident Command, continues to work with LAFD to allow access to our homes. They have now opened up quadrants 767-B and 767-C. Please have your ID ready for access. Please go to the WatchDuty app to see the map for quadrants or the LAFD website. Put your address in the search bar and you will locate your quadrant. For those residents in 767-B there is debris and residents will be escorted in by LAPD.
Power Update
LADWP has begun restoring power in our area. Last night Bundy Canyon regained power. Crews are working to restore power now at the direction of CALFIRE Unified Command. We know it is frustrating for everyone, but LADWP and the Unified Command will not give us a timeline for full restoration. If you attended or watched the Community Town Hall last night, you understand the Palisades Fire is a true disaster that is not over yet. While it has 27% containment, the fire is still burning and winds will come back next week. They are focused on extinguishing a fire that continues to burn, making sure that areas not touched by fire remain that way, and houses still standing in the middle of the fire storm continue to survive. Thousands of firefighters and first responders are working around the clock to protect us. Those entrusted with keeping us safe are trying to do their job. They understand our anxiety about not having power and are taking the necessary steps to restore it. As always, we will tell you as soon as we know more and we ask that if you have your power restored, please tell us as well as your neighborhood chat group. As we get through this disaster, please try and remember it IS a disaster and disasters disrupt our lives, for some tragically. Ask yourself if you were prepared. What would you do differently. What will you do if we are out of our house for weeks due to a devastating earthquake. In the coming weeks we will be right there with you thinking about this and finding ways to better prepare our community.
