Update on Power for Carmelina Area
Many of you have written that power for Carmelina and neighboring streets has not been restored. The latest news we have is that it is not safe for DWP to enter yet to fix the lines and they are waiting for clearance. We also learned that trees on the west side of Homewood had fallen on a power line that was caught by an eagle eyed resident. Luckily it was reported to DWP before the power was restored, thus averting a potential hazard. This is likely the reason for power being out in this area.
We all need to take care and look at power lines in our front yard, back yard, any place where trees are close and branches may have fallen. As a reminder, the top line on the power poles is the electricity and trees should be cut to six feet below that line. The other lines are cable and telephone. |
Community Support for our First Responders
Thank you to Divino Restaurant for answering the call from LAFD friend and BHA member Marc Jacoby to help feed LAPD, LAFD, and the National Guard during this exceptional time. BHA members joined Goran at Divino to help cook and pack breakfast and lunch for those stationed in our area protecting us. Power is back at the Brentwood Village. We hope you all will go to your favorite spots, like Divino, and show your support and say hello.

Swimming Pools and Ash
Don't forget about your pool and hot tub when cleaning up ash and fire debris. While it may not be swimming weather yet, read about what you should do to get it ready. You can find more information about the impact on your health from the fire at LA County Department of Public Health.
