Wildfire Risks Continue This Week

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Fire Weather Warning, High Wind Advisory and Red Flag Warning for Los Angeles County this week.  While it will be particularly dangerous for the coast and San Fernando Valley, we are at risk as well.  Northeast wind gusts are expected in our area with a high of 45 mph.  Low humidity and these winds mean that if fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable for extreme fire behavior and rapid fire growth, which would threaten life and property.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Use extreme caution with anything that can spark a wildfire.   A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are likely to occur in the coming days. Residents near wildland interfaces should be prepared to evacuate if a wildfire breaks out. See readyforwildfire.org and wildfirerisk.org for information.

PLEASE REMAIN VIGILANT WITH YOUR GO BAGS READY AND NOTIFICATIONS TURNED ON FOR WATCH DUTY!

Construction sites and gardeners should not use any equipment that creates sparks and should keep the roadway clear for emergency vehicles.

Water Alert Does NOT Include Brentwood

Last night DWP issued an alert in an effort to clarify the confusion they caused over the Do Not Drink Water message.

LADWP Customer Alerts :
A DO NOT DRINK NOTICE remains in effect for Pacific Palisades zip code 90272, and adjacent communities in the LADWP service area immediately south of the 90272-zip code that are north of San Vicente Blvd.   The Brentwood neighborhood is NOT included in the Do Not Drink Notice affected area. The Brentwood service zone maintained water pressure throughout the wildfire response, which prevented fire-related contaminants from entering the LADWP pipes serving the Brentwood community.

Customers with questions about whether their address is affected by the Do Not Drink notice issued by LADWP should check this online interactive map: https://tinyurl.com/DNDmapJan2025
