Important Community Safety Update

As many of you know by now (either through the Citizen App or neighborhood chats), a serious incident occurred on December 31, 2025, on Walther Way at 4:15pm.  According to LAPD, two suspects attempted a home-invasion robbery involving a fraudulent package delivery and demands for cryptocurrency. The victims were not physically injured. One victim was able to safely contact police. Thanks to the rapid response by LAPD, including air support and K-9 units, both suspects were apprehended and are now in custody.

LAPD reports:

Air 16 responded to the call and the sound of the helicopter caused the suspects to immediately flee. The airship observed a suspect immediately enter a vehicle and directed responding units to the vehicle. A short pursuit ensued of the vehicle with the suspect crashing and being taken into custody shortly thereafter.  Officers learned of a possible second suspect and a perimeter was established. K-9 responded to assist with the search. The second suspect was taken into custody without incident.

While incidents like this are rare, this serves as an important reminder to remain cautious about unexpected deliveries, requests to enter your home, or anyone seeking access under unusual circumstances.

We are grateful to LAPD for their swift response and will share any additional relevant information if appropriate. Please do not hesitate to contact BHA if you have concerns, and as always, report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
