The BHA continues to support the implementation of veterans housing solutions at the VA campus on the east side of our territory. However, we also want to make sure the VA does not enter into 75-year commitments without proper evaluation. We have urged the VA not to enter into any binding commitments regarding leases or contracts until there has been compliance with the required process. The VA, in a recent letter, thanked us for our support and agreed to examine some important issues we raised with respect to offsite traffic impacts. We have received support from several Veteran Service Organizations, representing over 150,000 veterans, who also want to see a transparent, effective and workable plan for housing and services through the required process that will provide information to the VA and the public before decisions are made. Uber Talkative?
Do you get in your Uber or Lyft to the airport and talk to the driver or someone on the phone about your trip and when you'll return? LAPD says while most drivers are upstanding, a very few have been involved in a subsequent burglary. If you do discuss your trip, please make sure to casually note your hope that your friend or relative who is housesitting gets along with your dogs.

Mount Saint Mary's University
The BHA has formed a committee to review the Draft Environmental Impact Report and submit comments on Mount Saint Mary's University Wellness Pavilion. We will be focused on assessing the Project's impacts on traffic, intensification of use, outside use, enrollment, and parking as well as any other significant impacts that will affect the community. Please contact us if you have specific concerns or questions regarding the Project. We encourage you to submit your own comments and copy us at info@brentwoodhomeowners.org. Comments are due by May 29th and can be emailed to Kathleen King. Be sure to include the case number of ENV-2016-2319-EIR.
