VA Picks Local Developer For Housing Project
After a nationwide search, the Veterans Administration has tapped a joint venture of Thomas Safran and Associates, Century Housing and Us Vets to master plan the West Los Angeles campus. The team will finance, design, build and maintain at least 900 units exclusively for veterans in need. The partnership was chosen from a number of local and national firms because it has considerable experience in developing and managing quality affordable and veteran housing in Southern California.
Thomas Safran, the founder of TSA, has for years been a resident and supporter of the Brentwood area. Many of the concrete trash cans and bus benches along San Vicente and around the neighborhood were donated by Safran and he was the major contributor to the children’s playground at Brentwood Science Magnet School. TSA’s new state of the art headquarters designed by Frank Gehry is being completed at the corner of Montana and San Vicente and will exclusively house the company’s operations.
