Don't Pay Your Insurance Bill? Ridiculous!? Insurance protects you against unexpected issues large and small. Our sole interest here is the same...to keep our neighbors safe in the event of a natural disaster or other traumatic event. It's too late to "buy your insurance" during or after an event. PLEASE take ten minutes and read the valuable information on the READY.org website.
Almost Done, Just Begun We realized we never gave a shout out to our members east of the Brentwood School upper campus. These fine folks worked with the school for six years, hammering out restrictions to lower traffic and noise impacts for years to come. The BHA board then stepped in and added more restrictions and cemented them in a binding agreement beyond what the City can enforce. The new middle school building is near completion. If you want to see a preview, Brentwood is holding an open house for neighbors on August 24 at 1pm, if you RSVP Here. On the west campus, you will notice work has begun on a lower school building to replace the temporary trailers that have housed music, science and art classes for years. If you are in the Saltair area and are impacted by construction, please let us know and we will address the issues with the school liaison.
Back To School Construction fences should be coming down as The Archer School addition and remodel is near completion with a new field and sport courts in the rear of the property. New classrooms, offices, common areas and other facilities were added to the rear of the existing historic main building. For more information about the Archer project, you can visit their website here. Like Brentwood, Archer has a covenant with BHA restricting traffic flow, peak hour and weekend events and other impactful items.
Throughout the year, members of BHA and other neighboring Associations work tirelessly to protect homeowner rights and to rally for the City services we are supposed to be provided. Los Angeles is vast and employees are overwhelmed and departments are all understaffed. We will continue our efforts working toward the best for Brentwood.
Nostalgia This map of our neighborhood to the west is from 1927. Frank Meline developed Bel-Air, Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.
