Scams and Squatting
While opportunity crimes are down, we are hearing about two things to look out for in these chaotic days.
If you have a rental property, property for sale, or just a vacant home, please make sure you have the space alarmed. There are reports of a few break-ins in Santa Monica by people looking for temporary shelter and making themselves at home. It could easily creep into our neighborhood, so we recommend taking steps toward security.
Also, you can expect a plethora of email, mail and phone scams which look or sound authentic. All should be suspect as criminals look to take advantage of people in vulnerable times.
