![]() Thank you to the hundreds of members who sent letters to our Senators and the State Assembly opposing the bad housing bills in Sacramento. We have learned that, due to Covid, hearings and voting will occur later this month or early August. We need to continue to oppose these bills that would...
* increase housing density in urban areas (including high fire risk areas) without requiring essential supporting infrastructure * enable developers to build market-rate housing instead of affordable housing * replace local control over planning with "one-size fits all" rules * eliminate current laws requiring public disclosure of the impact of projects and the opportunity for public input.
We must continue to put pressure on our representatives.
Learn How to Effectively Contact Our State Legislators
According to Livable California: “The Portal you’ll master on Saturday is great, once you get past the baffling instructions (written by legislators). The Portal zips your letter to a key “analyst” reviewing the Bad Bills for the committee. Your key issues can appear in a binder sent to the committee for consideration!”
(The BHA has no affiliation or association with Livable California, but is in agreement with the objective of defeating bad Housing Bills that are pending in Sacramento.)
