![]() More On Zoning Bills Nine bad housing bills were approved recently in the State Legislature. We must do everything we can to stop them from being passed in the next few weeks. These bills, SB 1120, SB 902, SB 1085, SB 995, AB 725, AB 1279, AB 2345, AB 3040, AB 3107 want to destroy single-family zoning. Here is what we can do to preserve our neighborhoods:
1 - Contact your legislators’ local office directly. Calls are good. Scheduling a Zoom meeting, with the staff or the legislator, with a few constituents is better. If you ask, they will LIKELY agree! Constituents hold a lot of sway with legislators! Find your legislators here.
2 - Write your letters opposing the 9 Bad Bills and submit them to the State Portal HERE. The Portal sends your group or individual letter to important “bill analysts” and to the committee that will hear the bill. Why is the Portal so important? It’s the only way to ensure your group’s issues are cited in the committee’s important “binder”.
3 - The Portal is very important but it’s a pain, go to the instructions HERE and print them out.
4 - For your Portal letters, find the right Committee address HERE and print them out.
Read the letter BHA submitted here.
