Before Tuesday
Sorry to bother your Sunday, but we've looked out for Brentwood since 1947 and need your help to help you!
The most onerous of the Sacramento housing bills, S.B. 1120, is expected to be voted on by the full Assembly on Tuesday, August 25. It eliminates local control of residential zoning and allows up to as many as EIGHT units on what is now a single-family lot. It does not require affordable or low income housing. It has no exemption for designated high-fire zones. This bill is a clear giveaway to developers. Our Assemblyman Bloom has previously sat out voting twice when this bill was in committee, so we don't know where he stands. If S.B. 1120 passes, the bill goes to Governor Newsom who has until the end of September to veto or sign it into law. Let's stop this bill before it goes to the governor!
