This Weekend

We are expecting exceptionally hot weather which means the area power grid will be on maximum load. Here's what you can do to help Brentwood stay online...

  • Keep your temperature set to safe but reasonable levels. Maybe 73 instead of 68? If you're not at home, with no pets, please set levels even higher.
  • Don't do laundry during the daytime hours.
  • If you have an electric car, set it to charge after 10pm.

Due to LABOR DAY holiday,

TRASH pickup will be delayed by one day.

Densification

The BHA has been around to protect the interests of Brentwood homeowners for almost 75 years. Part of that involves being reasonable in neighbor disputes, zoning and institutional relationships. In response to recent legislation, the BHA will be looking for ways to establish simpler and better guidelines for building, which allows people to build their dream homes without negatively impacting density, fire safety, and tranquility.

Go Big Or Go Home

That silly 90s expression should probably read "Go Big Home" as it applies to Brentwood. Many members have asked about all the hauler trucks parked along San Vicente, usually early in the morning. These are "staging areas" for big earth removal projects, mostly involving new home construction and excavation for basements. Everyone is going bigger and that includes subterranean parking, gyms, screening rooms and additional bedrooms. A project set to start on upper Bonhill will remove 2,700 cubic feet of earth. That's about 35 swimming pools. The bad news? Add between four months and one year to a project with a basement. The good news? Your home just got even more valuable.
