Cancelled

As previously reported here, the Wells Fargo near Barrington and Sunset has finally closed for good. We do not know now what will take its place, but the next nearest branch is San Vicente and Montana. This was long in the planning and not Covid related.

Homeless Survey

Brentwood has seen a tremendous increase in homeless on its streets, reflecting the growing trend in Los Angeles. Our members are distressed over this humanitarian crisis and have actively tried to find solutions through philanthropy and legislation. However, as the encampments increase and many refuse treatment or alternatives to living on the street, our members believe the time for action is now. Based on the recent results of our survey, BHA submitted a letter asking the City Council to support the following measures:

Clean Ups

95% of respondents support the motion to resume CARE+ clean- ups city-wide, including Brentwood.

Sidewalk Camping and Bulky Item Clean Up

91% of respondents strongly support the City Attorney’s amendments to the Los Angeles Municipal Code to specify the particular times and locations where it shall be unlawful for a person to sit, lie, or sleep on public property.

Getting Out of Dodge

With Statewide restrictions mandated, many members have written to let us know they are going to travel to remote areas less stricken by the pandemic. IF you will be leaving, please remember packages at your door as well as mail and trash cans at the curb for more than a day make your home a target. Consider having someone check your home daily. On another note, PLEASE don't leave anything visible, including your key fob, inside your car while it is parked on the street or in your garage!
