We have been getting tons of queries about the more active "Citizen" app which, if you have your notifications turned on, makes it sees like Brentwood is under siege. It's not! In most cases the reported incidents do not to turn out as they first appeared but as always, be vigilant! We will keep you posted on any new trends.

Covid-19 Vaccinations for 65+

We know it has been tough to get an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination. Everyone has a story or suggestion. Here are three government sponsored sites where you can register. Patience and persistence are the name of the game. One suggestion is to check sites on Sundays after 2 p.m.

Look for future changes with the announcement January 28 that Blue Shield has been designated as the statewide administrator. The transition in oversight will take several weeks.

myturn.ca.gov (state)

L.A. County is vaccinating healthcare workers, long-term care facility residents, and people 65 and older. Find out if you’re eligible to be vaccinated and schedule an appointment by checking California’s new MyTurn tool (myturn.ca.gov) or by calling the California COVID-19 hotline at (833) 422-4255 (available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) The portal asks where you live, your age and whether you are a healthcare worker. If you meet the criteria, residents can search for nearby sites and schedule appointments, if available.

vaccinatelacounty.com (county)

VaccinateLACounty.com has incorporated the State's new appointment registration platform, MyTurn, mentioned above. The registration system features a streamlined process for residents eligible to receive the vaccine. Those who are registered can receive alerts when new appointments become available, or when vaccinations are allowed for additional priority groups. Currently, MyTurn will make appointments for the County's five large capacity sites, as well as two other County-operated vaccination sites. Appointments for other locations, including pharmacies and clinics are also available.

carbonhealth (city)

The city of Los Angeles has partnered with Carbon Health to administer vaccines. According to the city, all L.A. County residents who are eligible can make an appointment through Carbon Health. The city of L.A. vaccination sites include Dodger Stadium, Lincoln Park, Crenshaw Christian Center, San Fernando Park and Hansen Dam Recreational Center.
