Silver Linings

One of the ironies of the global pandemic that kept us in our homes much more than usual is that it alleviated the other thing that has kept us in our homes for the past decade -- traffic and congestion. For the first time in years, you have been able to travel east after 2:30pm, IF you had somewhere you could go. The trip some of our members took to Cal State LA for their vaccines would have been a day trip in pre pandemic LA. By the way, the picture above was not taken years ago, but two weeks ago at 4:00pm, when no schools were in session. It seems the advent of WAZE and the improvements years ago to 405 access has made Sunset a permanent staple in the commute for those working in Santa Monica, Palisades and West LA.

Brentwood to Beverly Hills

Last week, we told you about much needed infrastructure improvements by LADWP along Sunset near Marymount High. Those who travel to and from Beverly Hills using this route should expect moderate delays as Sunset has been restriped down to one lane in each direction through August.

Schools Back?

While private school parents race to message their friends about the latest return to school plans, we can confirm most middle and upper schools are prepping for a solid in person return at the end of August. Many K-6 campuses, including Brentwood at Saltair and Sunset, have returned to on campus learning. All schools public and private are hoping for some hybrid form of return to campus in late April, but much depends on vaccinating teachers and the County numbers. Stay tuned!
