SB 9 Moves Forward One of two Sacramento housing bills which would eliminate single-family zoning is moving forward. SB 9 passed out of the Senate Housing Committee with a 7-2 vote. BHA and several members testified in opposition on Thursday. One favorable amendment will leave property in the severe high fire zone under local jurisdiction, but this needs to be further defined. Another Bad Bill Anyone wanting to be heard on SB 10 can dial in to the committee hearing on Thursday, April 22. BHA is opposed to the bill which allows 10-unit luxury projects on any residential or mixed-use land within a mile of a high-quality bus corridor or jobs-rich area, yet to be defined. No mention of affordable housing and BHA opposes this trickle-down theory.
