![]() HOMELESS INTERVENTION MOTION On March 31, Councilman Bonin submitted a motion for additional housing and shelters for the homeless in his district. Specifically, he asked for the City Administrative Office to identify funding for potential sites and programs throughout the Westside that include the county owned parking lot at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades (as well as other lots and locations in Mar Vista, Marina Del Rey, Playa del Rey, Venice, Del Rey, Westchester, and West LA).
The community response to creating a temporary site for tiny homes or safe camping at Will Rogers State Beach has been overwhelmingly critical. No matter where you stand on the issue, we encourage you to read the full motion and leave your comments for the City Council record here.
WHAT MORE CAN YOU DO? Based on the recent survey, we know the number one issue for our members is homelessness and the encampments on the sidewalk outside of the VA as well as other areas in Brentwood. Now is the time to communicate with our elected officials and let them know where you stand on past, current and future solutions. Our Brentwood Community Council has been working diligently on this issue and has urged residents to take the following steps:
