Street Encampments Cause Dissension About the only thing everyone agrees on when it comes to street encampments is that the fix is complicated. There is now a feud with LA County Sheriffs attempting to clean up Venice on one side and Supervisor Sheila Keuhl and Councilperson Mike Bonin on the other. How this plays out directly impacts Brentwood as the San Vicente encampment is on County land. You can read more HERE.
Anti Single Family Bill SB9 Moves Forward Despite major opposition from callers on Wednesday, SB 9 is going forward to its next committee hearing. The vote was 5 yes, 1 no and 2 that did not vote. Like last year on some of these bad housing bills meant to eliminate single family zoning, our Assemblymember Richard Bloom did not vote. Word on the street is the bill will reach the full Assembly floor for a fight.
If you are interested in the strategy to defeat SB 9 and SB 10, which is held up for now, United Neighbors will be having a Zoom call with HOAs across LA on Saturday, June 12 at 1 p.m. BHA will be on the call.
You (Don't) Have Mail We continue to have issues with vandalism and mail theft with the post office boxes at Barrington Station. The safest way now to mail your items is to walk into the post office and drop your items in the bins labeled Letters. If you have had mail stolen, please report it. You can find how to do it online here or you can call (877) 876-2455. If you need to contact the manager of the Barrington Post Office, you can reach Brandon Anderson, Manager, at 310-476-4057.
Condo Owners: If mail has gone missing from your lobby mailboxes due to thieves with a key, contact USPS Manager of Operations Chris Pulido at 323-586-1430 to rekey the mailboxes or front entry.
San Vicente Traffic Lights If you have been stuck on San Vicente waiting and waiting for the light to turn green, the traffic lights will be in sync by next week. They had been adjusted for less traffic during the pandemic.
