We Hear You!
The BHA is responding to member concern during the past 18 months with the out of control encampment along San Vicente. The murder, fires, fights, accidents, trash and unsafe conditions are putting neighbors beyond the brink. Local restaurants have had to hire private security to maintain order in their establishments.
We want to thank Lt Nagelman and the LA Sheriff's Deputies who continue to monitor the encampment activities. This morning, deputies issued a citation to an inoperable van parked for more than a week. The owner has three days to move it before it is towed.
LASD will be onsite Aug 3 when Public Works is hoping to clear the trash and bulky items. Meanwhile, there is an ongoing dispute as to the status of tents that become vacant as occupants are housed. The BHA supports efforts to reasonably and humanely dismantle the encampment as solutions are found for its inhabitants.
