MAIL: US Post Office on Barrington is holding your mail. We are told you can pick it up with proper ID, but to expect a long wait. Packages via USPS should be sorted and ready for pickup as well later today.
TRASH: Sanitation services did run the streets yesterday, but obviously very few had their trash out. They will let us know about scheduling pickups when evac order is lifted.
ACCESS: LAPD has issued this directive:
In order to better assist the communities we serve during these times, we have established the following plan allowing residents to temporarily revisit their homes. The temporary revisit is set with the sole purpose of retrieval of medicines and/or pets.
*In order to be escorted, residents must show valid identification with proof of residency and have a need to obtain medication.
*Officers must take a photo of that identification
*Prior to escorting, officers must have a conversation with the resident notifying them if they are escorted to their residence that they cannot stay.
*Additionally, Officers must discuss that escorts are subject to be called off due to unsafe conditions; This determination is made by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
*There is a time restrictions of 5-10 minutes for residents to gather their medications.
*Officers cannot force residents out if they decide to remain longer but should encourage and seek cooperation if residents attempt to do so
